"My parents, Sol and Fay Gordon were friends with Sam and Ida. They belonged to a group of friends called The O B Social. When they needed a babysitter for me, I would sleep over at the Rosen’s, the kids would watch me. What fun I had in the morning waking up to the wonderful smells of a Bakery. This was in the 50’s."

"After work at my father’s shoe store at 4841 N.Broad, my father and mother would head over to Sailors for cream cheese and the to Rosens for Bagels and all the treats my family loved. I especially loved the cherry danish . The rye bread also was fabulous. This is in the early 60’s for me . I’m so proud of my legacy that I experienced the wonderful Rosens Bakery!!!"

"My father grew up on the 4600 block of N 11th street . I spent a lot of time at my grandmothers house and loved going to the bakery to pick out the rye bread and walking back to her house . I could not wait to eat a piece while still warm."

"I am from Logan. I use to be on 11th Street often. I was the shopper in my family even though I was a child. I have fond memories going into yiur bakery and purchasing sweet items for the weekend and those wonderful onion boards. For some reason the quick pace of trying up those white bakery boxes with the strings always impressed me. "My Beloved Parents owned Neuman's Dry Goods store at 4741 North 11th Street. They were Holocaust survivors. I remember shopping in your bakery with my friends before going to Hebrew School at Gratz. The best high hats, chocolate doughnuts, challah, etc. My Mom was happy to see your parents when they moved to the Doral on Bustleton. Lovely people."

"Rosen’s made the cake for my Sweet Sixteen in February 1963 at “The Shack” on Ogontz Avenue."

"Marty's great stamp collection. Would go into Rosen's take a number go next door to the Thomas's deli and when came back to the bakery my number was real close to be called. I also worked there of a while, and had to take a try of Danish down stair's to the store. They looked so great, I stuffed a few in my mouth. Turn out they were for an order, and the order came up short. Such great times"

"Thanks to Gilaad for posting on the Cheltenham High website. My grandparents were Myer and Ethyl who had the butcher shop on the corner of 11th and Loudon (4761 N 11th). My dad, who passed away last year, was Harvey. He took over the butcher shop until Logan was closed down. My dad grew up with Bossie and lived in Logan until we moved to Elkins Park. My mom is Florence, who I understand takes Yiddish class with Rita. I was friends with Phyllis Horn growing up and my sister knew Ivan. I grew up on 11th street as I spent every weekend there until going to college. I remember Sam and Ida well as I was always in and out of every store on the block. Myer and Eva in the deli, George and Sara in the cigar/luncheonette, Saylors, and Mildred in the dress shop. Also the fish store and kosher butchers and Phil’s hardware store. Sam and Ida were probably at my bris party at the butcher shop as well as my Bar Mitzvah. So many fond memories of a special childhood. Regards to all and thanks for the memories."
